Request
You can port your existing phone numbers from your current (losing) phone service provider to Olafe. You will need to supply the following documents:
- A copy of your current bill with the number you require to port (must be less than 30 days old)
- A copy of a signed Letter of Authorization (LOA) form (forms are on the bottom)
Note: If you have multiple telephone numbers, and you are not porting all of the numbers, you may have to first break up your bill. Some providers cancel all secondary numbers, if you just port your main number on the bill. Please speak to your current provider before starting the porting process.
Timing
The porting process takes at least 10 business days.
Potential Issues
If there are issues, your current provider will not release your number to us. Here's a list of common issues, and how to fix them:
Service Address mismatch/incorrect |
If your business has moved, it may be the old address, and not the current billing address. Contact the current provider and ask them to correct the address. |
Customer Name mismatch/incorrect |
If your business changed the name, or the number is registered in the different name, you have to get the correct name or change it to the correct business name. |
Unauthorized End User |
Call the current provider to update the name of the authorized person of the account |
ZIP Code incorrect |
Contact the current provider and ask them to correct the address. |
Missing or incorrect PIN |
Contact the current provider and ask them to change the port out PIN. |
Pending Order against account |
Contact the current provider and finalize any outstanding changes. |
Numbers not in service |
Contact the current provider and reinstate the service if it has been cancelled. |
DSL or other services associated with Telephone Number |
If there are other services on the line, they must first be separated with your current provider. |
If you are experiencing a problem porting your telephone number, due to rejections, you have to escalate your issue with the current provider. Here are some direct telephone numbers for specific departments that may assist you:
If you are still having problems escalating the problem with your current provider, you can file a formal complaint with your state's Public Utilities Commission.
