If you are using Max UCMobile on a phone (as opposed to a tablet), it is possible to receive an incoming cell call while you are on an Accession call. If you accept the cell call, you will lose audio on your Accession call, so Accession will handle this by placing the remote end on hold. The exact behavior of the app depends on the limitations imposed by the device's OS:
Android
- When you receive the incoming cell call, your phone will normally display a notification (although this depends on the handset manufacturer’s Android customization) but your Max UC call will continue to have two-way audio and you will be able to continue the call.
- Depending on your device settings, you may hear your ringtone playing as well as the audio from the remote end of the Max UC call until you either accept or reject the incoming cell call.
- If you reject the incoming cell call, your Max UC call continues seamlessly.
- If you accept the incoming cell call, Max UC will automatically place the remote end of its call on hold.
- The remote end will hear music-on-hold if it is configured for your Max UC line.
- When you end the cell call, Max UC will automatically take the remote end off hold, and the Max UC call will continue.
iOS
- When you receive the incoming cell call, your phone will display the incoming call screen and Max UC will automatically place the remote end of its call on hold.
- This is because the OS has already suspended Max UC's audio session as soon as it detected an incoming cell call.
- The remote end will hear music-on-hold if it is configured for your Max UC line.
- If you reject the incoming cell call, the OS will inform Max UC that it can access device audio again and Max UC will automatically take the remote end off hold.
- If you accept the incoming cell call, the Max UC call remains on hold until the cell call is over. At that point, Max UC will automatically take the remote end off hold.
This same behavior is exhibited whenever iOS temporarily pauses Max UC’s audio session. Other examples of when this would happen include receiving a text (if your phone is configured to play a tone for an incoming text) and an alarm going off.
